SULAPAC® PREMIUM ECO-PACKAGING

THE SULAPAC STORY

The inspiration for Sulapac’s innovation lies in the Finnish forest. Founders Suvi Haimi and Laura Kyllönen wanted to develop a beautiful and ecological packaging material that would help to reduce the plastic waste.

PLASTIC WASTE IS A GLOBAL PROBLEM – AND THE PLANET NEEDS NEW SOLUTIONS

Plastic is the dominating packaging material in the world and the plastic consumption is growing all the time. Regardless of the improved recycling schemes and energy production in different countries, the plastic waste keeps accumulating to the nature. The circular economy is here to stay and needs new packaging solutions that do not overload the environment.

JUST LIKE PLASTIC – BUT WITHOUT THE WASTE

Sulapac is a fully biodegradable packaging material made from renewable and sustainable raw materials. We use wood only from sustainably managed Nordic forests. It contains no harmful components, has a low carbon footprint, and can be processed in the same way as plastic. It is the world’s first mass-producible premium eco-packaging material.

A PACKAGE FULL OF POSSIBILITIES

Sulapac combines sustainability with luxury and unlimited design possibilities. Our packaging can be manufactured using injection moulding and extrusion techniques. Sulapac has comparable properties to plastic and with the addition of special coatings the resistance to water, oil and oxygen can be further improved.

DESIGN WITH A CONSCIENCE

Our premium ecological packages help you to communicate your commitment to sustainability and strengthen your brand identity. Together with our world-class network of designers, we can help you develop elegant premium packaging designs that give your products and your brand an edge – and make a real difference at the same time.

CASE NAVITER

The products in the Atopik range of natural cosmetics from Finnish company Naviter are the first cosmetics to use Sulapac’s unique fully biodegradable eco-designed packaging. “Thanks to Sulapac’s innovative and sustainable packaging, our packaging and content can now speak the same language,” says Naviter CEO Anni Linnavirta. Just like Sulapac packaging, Atopik All Over Balm contains no microplastics. “Producing packaging and products that contain no microplastics is crucial to tackling the global plastic waste problem,” says Sulapac CEO Suvi Halmi.

CASE NIKI NEWD®

Finnish artisan skincare brand Niki Newd wanted to be a pioneer in premium eco packaging. The Niki Newd soap case is made from Sulapac, meaning it contains no harmful compounds and is 100% biodegradable. With Niki Newd’s focus on using quality ingredients without any artificial additives, Sulapac was the natural choice.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

We will always be sustainable, and we strive to make a change towards a more ecological world. Our passion is to innovate and create advanced bio-based packaging solutions. The material is the essence of what we do, but we also love premium design and Nordic quality. We truly believe that every package can make a difference.
