Sulapac materials – designed like nature

Sulapac is sustainable, beautiful and functional. Like nature. Our materials are industrially compostable, and therefore ideal for single use1 and reusable cutlery. If products made of Sulapac would accidentally end up in nature, they will biodegrade without leaving permanent microplastics behind2. (It must be noted that littering is never ok.)

Sulapac portfolio has several material recipes for you to choose from. Our technical experts are available at your service to ensure smooth switch and processability.

1 The new EU Single-Use Plastic Directive (SUP) plastic definition bans all chemically modified polymers usage in cutlery. Read more how even fried egg can be defined as plastics by EU on our webpage.

2 Sulapac materials within the same families of recipes show 58-74% biodegradation into CO2, water and biomass has been measured in 462 days in the marine environment (ASTM D6691, 86 oF / 30 oC and of 28%-70% at 153 days when tested according to ASTM 5511 (99 ºF) accelerated biodegradation in the landfill.
