Top 10 Winners of Global Cleantech Cluster Association 2017 Later Stage Awards announced – Winners will be honored and TOP3 announced on 31 October in London

Lahti, Oct 24, 2017

We are proud to announce the Top 10 cleantech cluster companies highlighting the best of the best in cleantech. The GCCA’s Global TOP10 winners represent the best of the Association’s member clusters and over 10,000 member companies. On top of the TOP10 diplomas, this year the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) Later Stage Awards will be given to three winners at the Cleantech Venture Day event in London.

The GCCA Global Top 10 Winners were selected based on the KeyStone CompactTM assessment. This year’s 7th GCCA Awards ceremony will be organized by Cambridge Cleantech jointly with Nordic Innovation Accelerator in conjunction with the Cleantech Venture Day event in London. “This will be the first ever Cleantech Venture Day in London and we are very happy to say it is all sold out. On top of these excellent winners, there were over 50 companies applying for the pitching slots so it will truly be the place to see the best of the best in cleantech”, states Nina Harjula, chairman of the board for NIA and co-founder and board member of GCCA.

Every year the GCCA member clusters choose their best companies to be nominated for the Later Stage Awards. This year there were over 100 nominees and the Global Top 10 were selected using the KeyStone CompactTM, an algorithmic business model investment risk rating suite of tools developed by GCCA co-founder Dr. Peter Adriaens, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance at the Ross School of Business, and CEO of Corymbus Asset Management, an investment advisory and quant fund design firm.

“The Award is getting more competitive every year and this year’s nominees and winners are the ones to watch. We believe that these companies will be in the forefront developing solutions to achieve the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s),” said Christian Haeuselmann, Chairman of the GCCA and founder of the YODEL HUB in Switzerland.

The GCCA Award 2017 Top 10 Winners and the nominating GCCA clusters are: Visedo/Finland, Origami Energy/Cambridge, UK, BestMile/Swiss, Wattwatchers/Australia, EcoRobotics/Swiss, Smappee/ Flanders, Sulapac/ Finland, Banyan Nation/ India, Iteros/ San Diego and HubControls/ Ireland. The full list and the TOP3 winners will be announced at www.globalcleantech.org/en/custom/company/directory after the Later Stage Award Gala 31 October.
